Aimee "Butterfly" Sanders has loved making art ever since she got her first box of oil pastels when she was a little girl...
After playing lots of sports in high school and graduating cum laude from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona with a B.A. in Psychology, she earned an Elementary School Teaching Credential from San Diego State University. Then she joined the Peace Corps and flew off to Africa.
Since 2003, she has worked in Gabon at Mayumba National Park as the Outreach Program Director and Media Maven, bringing delightful environmental and health education activities to over 3000 village children and creating a suite of media products from scratch to help promote ecotourism and environmental education for the fledgling park.
In her "spare time", she undertook an eco-friendly remodeling project at a seaside hotel, promoted local women's traditional handicrafts, and designed posters, websites, brochures, banners, films, museum exhibits and marine animal costumes for various environmental and health education projects in Gabon.
